FUN FACTS ABOUT TRAYS AND DECOR

Updated: May 13, 2021

Looking for something to put on your coffee table, console table, dining table or on a flat surface in your home…

Well trays are the way to go. Yes, a tray. Time has evolved so much and so has the use of many things in the world.

Trays, in today’s world have moved from just been used to transport tea and coffee, to serving as a centrepiece décor support for your tables. This meaning that today trays have 3 uses:

  1. Service tray

  2. Centrepiece

  3. Repair base/point

Why a tray, you ask?

Well, it may not seem like it, but trays are useful, handy and make the prefect base. Here are some fun facts that you may or may not already know about trays:

THEY'RE PORTABLE

Using a tray is totally portable. You can move it from point A to point B, without having to start placing the elements on the tray one-by-one. Today, I placed the tray on the coffee table and tomorrow, I changed my mind and simply picked up the tray and moved it on to the console table in the hallway, or if I want to have breakfast in bed. As simple as that!

CAN BE INTERACTIVE

Most times, elements placed on a tray can be interactive. For instant:

  • A bowl of fruits

  • An hour glass

  • Small sandbox

  • Books

  • Candles

Personally, I find that candles are not so much interactive but more of a simple decorative element, that the owner of the house will light on, if the need occurs.

REPAIR BASE/ POINT

If used at the entry point of your home, it can be used as a repair point. This would essentially be your repair point, the area in which you put your keys, phone, glasses and other little things, in which you need to find quickly at hand.

If used in a bathroom > in the bathtub for instant, this would again be the place where you really place your essentials, i.e. soap, sponge, essential oil etc.

So remember, don’t put too much elements on the tray, only the essentials.

NOT COST EFFECTIVE

One of the best things about trays is that you can find them anywhere, and at any price. Depending on your budget, they can cost as little as 5e or more. And it you really are on a tight budget, you can always buy a really low cost tray and transform it into something glamorous or chic or classy (whatever be your preferences).

DECLUTTER

Trays can also help declutter and area in which there was just too much unnecessary things in that space. It really helps you keep the area clean, nice to the eye and organised. So remember, (like I said before) don’t put too much elements on the tray.
